About
Mia Fox PT, DPT began her exploration of the body while getting her doctorate in physical therapy at Ithaca College. While yoga did not influence her until after she became a physical therapist it quickly altered her practice inside and outside of the clinic. Yoga began as a form of exercise, but was continued because it was time for Mia to focus solely on her own body and mind and rediscover that connection in a different light.
In the winter of 2017 Mia Fox PT, DPT completed her 200 hour yoga alliance certified teacher training from Rachel VerValin, E-RYT owner of Heart Thread Healing. In June of 2017 Roam Yoga was created with the intent to make vinyasa flow yoga more accessible to everyone; older adults that may have difficulty getting onto the floor, persons with injuries, or persons with complicated medical conditions.
Mia’s enthusiasm to continue learning about the human body has mind has not stopped! Currently, she is studying Neuroscience at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Her desire to continue helping people through physical injuries inspired the evolution of Roam Yoga to become Roam Yoga & Physio. Mia practiced previously with Lifespan Therapies, PLLC and HealthPro Heritage providing both adult outpatient services and pediatric physical therapy services in the schools and at homes. Mia’s physical therapy practice is rooted in the use of manual therapy and unique exercise programs curated to address each patient’s goals to returning to activities of daily living, work, or play!
This revival of Roam holds the intention to bring physical therapy services to the Memphis community. All physical therapy services are cash based and offered on a sliding scale to assist those in all financial stages of life. No insurance or doctors referral required to begin services.
